Allermuir - Aldo Chairs

Constructed from steel and plywood Aldo explores fairly traditional territory for cafe seating.

Leaning into this we developed a family of neutral hard working seats that can be dialed into different situations through choice of materials and finishes.

Once quite transitory spaces cafes often find themself hosting customers for prolonged periods of time for work.

So through repeated sampling and test rigs we sought to develop very ergonomic geometry and plywood parts to provide a seat with high levels of comfort.

Custom plywood parts sit on precisely welded tube and plate frames which provide rigidity and compact stacking.

Fixings between frame and backrest are hidden with a specially developed die cast assembly that also facilitates removal and repair. The quality of metalwork allows for a gloss finish which is notoriously unforgiving on defects.

Through a focus on quality and comfort Aldo seeks to be quiet, accommodating and appreciated through use.
